Ian Rassman is a globally connected payments and banking specialist who helps cannabis operators navigate the financial systems they need to grow and operate compliantly. A lifelong entrepreneur and patented inventor, he brings more than 15 years of hands-on experience in fintech, banking, and high-risk payments, working directly with cannabis retailers, e-Commerce retailers, and ancillary businesses across multiple markets.

He is also Executive Vice Chair of the global Cannabis Chamber of Commerce, where he has been instrumental in driving international expansion and building meaningful collaboration among regulators, operators, and investors.

Ian also serves on the Board of Directors of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) in California. For more than 55 years, NORML has been at the forefront of cannabis reform in the United States, leading opposition to the War on Drugs and co-sponsoring historic legislation, including Proposition 215, the nation’s first medical cannabis law, passed in 1996.

A dual citizen of Ireland and the United States, Ian has traveled to over 100 countries and lived in Hawai‘i during the 1970s and 1980s and in Amsterdam during the 1990s. Those experiences shaped a practical, international perspective on cannabis, regulation, and commerce. Today, his cross-border work and consistent presence at global industry events have made him a trusted voice in strengthening the financial foundation of the legal cannabis industry while advocating for transparent, scalable systems that allow cannabis commerce to function responsibly.
